Sitting there trying to watch the last 90 minutes of Pride and Prejudice as Leone and I get increasingly teary. And sniffing. And needing tissues.
Then when it was done Leone suggested we watch it again from the beginning. Of course, we also discussed just watching disk two. Disk two ROCKS!
Now, if you’ll excuse me I must go wash off my mascara smudges.

There is a new position at the uni (term program advisor - one year) and I have been shortlisted for it. I interview on Wednesday morning.
I would like to try this job. I think I would be very good at it because the advising is what I like best about my current job (not so much fond of the data entry/student processing part of my current job - it is okay, but I shine when I’m helping the students).
And it is a little more self-motivated and self-directed. And it is more academic with interactions with departments regarding degree requirements and course substitutions and such.
So yes. I am thinking about this quite a bit.

Guess what we watched last night?
Pride and Prejudice! The REAL one! Oh Mr. Firth, you are so very yummy. I finally just went ahead and bought it from HMV. As I was scanning the shelf for it at the store, a sales woman came over with a customer and, as I read backwards to where “PR” would be, she grabs the ONE copy off the shelf and hands it to the woman standing there.
AHHH! CRAP! So then I’m standing there as the woman is like ‘oh, it costs this much. Is this a good version? I think this is the one I saw.”
I had to resist confiding to her ‘no, that’s the bad one. You want the one up front on the big display with Keira Knightly. Much much better. This one is older and outdated.. yeah.’
All in all, she wandered about with it for a while and then put it back on the shelf. I had already confided in the sales girl (to see if they had another in the store) and she suddenly hisses at me ‘go! go! she put it back! GRAB IT!!’
And I did.
We watched the first sections last night. Oh Mr. Collins, you are so icky. And poor Mary. And Lydia is such a pain. And Lizzy, I love your womanly body and beautiful knowing smile. YOU are Lizzy.
*nods*

Oh yeah. We are already married. Okay, we’re having a reception which I’m calling and Open House because I think that sounds more retro 70’s coolness.
Anyone in the BC area on August 16th, come on by to my mom and dad’s house!
We’re having cake and coffee from the Bean Scene and punch and fruit and cheeses and Jim and I are making the photo album this weekend with pics from the honeymoon and wedding and I’ve made up announcements that we’re going to have on hand with a selection of pictures for people to choose from (oh great, trying to pick 3 pictures we like best…) and we think it will be very very nice!
I was asked yesterday if I would wear my dress. And on the one hand I would, just because I could. But on the other hand that would mean getting it cleaned. It is dirty. And getting it cleaned is about in the couple of hundred range. Yeah.
I am thinking of trying to do it myself somehow. Any input welcome.
xoxo

Something seems to be wonky with comments. I’ve had two people tell me they left comments and they never posted.
Of course, I thought I’d make an entry and ask about this so you all can reply and let me know if you… can’t… reply…
…wait for it.
*doh*

Hi all, I have a request. If any of you would be willing to write up a letter for Immigration stating what you know of my and Jim’s relationship being all legit and for real and whatnot - that would be great.
I figure a few WDers would be good to include as you saw the relationship start and progress and can vouch for the reality of the WD (not to mention the WD marriage machine! It is like an international dating service! Lavalife has NOTHING on them!). Actually, let’s not mention the WD marriage machine. Might just confuse matters.
We need the letters on actual paper and signed. If you would be willing, please just send me an email or a PM or phone me or just tell me if you are my sister and you live in the same house as me.
In other news… why would they make the photo requirements so very much LIKE passports but not the SAME as passports?? Just different enough that we have to either go to the real photographer and pay through the nose or, as this one fellow suggests on the immigration forum, take a picture ourselves and keep fiddling with it and printing it on an inkjet until it can be cut to the right size/dimentions.
doh.
Thanks everyone!

We like the old couch. Jim and Jenn have bought new ones. We don’t like them…
We don’t like change. What is wrong with the old couch?
Why would we need a new one?
What’s that? Give it a try? Pish.

Um, yes.
Yes this is okay, I guess.
The loveseat? Yes, it is okay too.

Now leave me human, I have some sleeping to do! Ah… sweet new couch!

Contract at work has been extended for another month. That means two more paycheques! Which I have pretty much spent this weekend as Jim and I picked out a full bedroom suite.
Like adults have.
For real!
Six drawer dresser, big dresser thing with mirror, bedside table, and sleigh bed. All done up in a beautiful wood with these little metal leaf details. It all will be delivered on Friday!!
The same day our new sofa and loveseat will be delivered.
Oh yes.
We also really like the chair (I LOVE the whole chair/ottoman combo) but I have to say: tough call. Tough to get a chair and ottoman that pretty much costs the same as a whole couch. Wassup with that? I think chairs should cost $200. Ottomans (ottomen?) should be $49.99 plus tax.
They’re not.
At least not the ones I want.
And then we looked at dinning room tables. Found one that was the exact size we wanted. Found another that was the exact style we wanted. So, we will keep looking.
Pictures will be posted when all is said and done!
